We are delighted to introduce Nheavel Gracilla, the new Program Director for Canadian Horizons Magazine, a part of the RISEC Community Foundation team. With an impressive career spanning retail sales, customer service, management, and administration, Nheavel brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to her new role.
Nheavel has already made a significant impact at RISEC by successfully rolling out the inaugural issue of Canadian Horizons Magazine. Her leadership and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition, showcasing her ability to drive initiatives and achieve organizational goals. Additionally, she has personally recruited key individuals for the organization, further strengthening our team with her strategic vision and keen eye for talent. She is also currently organizing our first Career Ready workshop for newcomers, demonstrating her commitment to supporting and empowering our community.
Nheavel’s professional journey showcases her ability to lead teams and drive business growth across various industries. Her expertise in team management and business development has been instrumental in achieving organizational goals through strategic partnerships, insightful market analysis, and innovative solutions. Known for her results-driven approach and exceptional communication and negotiation skills, Nheavel has consistently fostered lasting relationships with stakeholders and clients, driving revenue growth and operational excellence.
In her role as Program Director, Nheavel will oversee the overall operations of Canadian Horizons Magazine, working closely with the management team to ensure the magazine’s objectives are met. Her extensive experience in customer service and retail sales, coupled with her strong background in management and business development, positions her perfectly to lead the magazine to new heights.
Nheavel’s career highlights include her current role as a Best Buy Express in Calgary, where she demonstrates initiative in monitoring store operations and actively promoting products and services. Her part-time role as a Business Consultant at HomeFreedomUSA involves liaising with brokers and real estate agents, analyzing data, and supporting the acquisitions team to reach business goals. Previously, as an Operations Manager at HomeFreedomUSA, she led a business development team, enhancing communication skills and increasing lead generation through targeted strategies.
Her experience in the Philippines includes Credit Card & Auto Finance Collections at JPMorgan Chase Bank, Subject Matter Expert focusing on mentoring agents on how to exceed Customer Satisfaction, and finally, Subject Matter Expert/Case Manager at Teleperformance, where she demonstrated excellent analytical skills in resolving unresolved disputes. These positions refined her competencies in client service, problem-solving, and operational management.
Nheavel’s volunteer work reflects her dedication to community service and professional growth. She has served as a Volunteer Managing Editor and English Co-Facilitator at the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, demonstrating her commitment to supporting newcomers and contributing to the community.
Nheavel holds a B.A. in Business Management from San Sebastian College-Recoletos and has completed various certifications, including Proserve Liquor Staff Training. Her diverse skill set includes proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and point-of-sales systems, as well as strong soft skills such as empathy, reliability, and organizational prowess.
