We are delighted to welcome Meaghan O’Hara as the new HR Manager for the RISEC Group at the RISEC Community Foundation. Meaghan joins us with over a decade of HR experience and a solid background in recruitment, retention, and organizational development, making her a perfect fit to support RISEC’s mission of fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace.
Meaghan’s career reflects a commitment to HR excellence, starting from her recent role as HR Manager at Encore Auctions, where she collaborated with management on recruitment strategies, performance management, and policy updates. She spearheaded retention initiatives, including employee feedback surveys and rewards software, while providing expert guidance on health and safety programs. Her experience with HRIS systems like Rippling showcases her ability to lead and implement technology-driven HR solutions.
Prior to Encore, Meaghan worked as a Recruitment and Retention Specialist at Tepperman’s, where she led company-wide recruitment projects and strengthened the organization’s employer brand. Her role also included mentoring managers on HR best practices and optimizing recruitment software usage. At Bluestone Properties, Meaghan served as HR and Health & Safety Coordinator, implementing onboarding and safety programs while handling employee relations matters and payroll processes. Her broad experience spans industries, making her well-versed in addressing HR needs across diverse work environments.
With an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from Nova Scotia Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in English with a Sociology minor from Acadia University, Meaghan’s academic foundation enhances her practical expertise. Her additional certifications, including a CHRP equivalency, Mental Health First Aid, and Facilitator Training, reinforce her dedication to fostering a supportive workplace culture.
Meaghan is known for her strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as her commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Her experience in coaching and mentoring staff, coupled with her background in compliance and policy implementation, make her an invaluable addition to the RISEC Group.
As HR Manager, Meaghan will play a vital role in shaping RISEC’s HR strategy, driving recruitment and retention efforts, and ensuring a positive, inclusive work environment.
