Role Overview

RISEC Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the successful transition of newcomers in Canada, providing them with the resources, guidance, and support they need for settlement, education, and career success. Our goal is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all newcomers.

Position Description

The Social Media Coordinator is a leadership role responsible for coordinating the efforts of the social media managers for various projects within our organization. You will be instrumental in guiding our social media strategy, setting priorities, and ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Team Coordination: Organize regular meetings with the social media team to discuss goals, progress, and new initiatives. Ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor the work of social media managers across various projects. Track the performance of social media campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
  • Setting Priorities: Work with the organization’s leadership to set social media priorities and ensure they align with the broader goals of the non-profit.
  • Communication: Communicate the objectives and values of the non-profit organization to the social media team. Ensure consistent messaging across all social media platforms.
  • Content Development: Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging and relevant content for various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with other teams within the organization to gather content ideas and ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Best Practices: Stay informed about social media trends and best practices in the non-profit sector. Share knowledge with the team to improve the organization’s online presence.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in social media coordination or management, ideally within the non-profit sector.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using social media platforms and tools for scheduling, analytics, and content creation.
  • Passion for Our Mission: A strong commitment to supporting newcomers in Canada and fostering an inclusive community.
