Role Overview

RISEC Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the successful transition of newcomers in Canada, providing them with the resources, guidance, and support they need for settlement, education, and career success. Our goal is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all newcomers.

Position Description

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Volunteer Marketing Manager to lead the marketing efforts for our upcoming magazine, which serves as a critical resource for newcomers and the community at large. This role involves developing and executing strategies to secure advertisers for the magazine, establishing partnerships with local businesses, and ensuring the magazine’s financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to attract advertisers for the magazine.
  • Identify and reach out to potential advertisers, sponsors, and partners in the community and beyond.
  • Create compelling pitches and presentations to communicate the value of advertising in our magazine.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses, non-profits, and other community organizations.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to align advertising content with the magazine’s mission and values.
  • Track and report on advertising sales progress, providing regular updates to the organization’s leadership.
  • Assist in creating marketing materials and promotional campaigns to increase the visibility of the magazine.

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, sales, or business development, ideally within a non-profit or community-focused context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian business landscape and a passion for supporting newcomers to Canada.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
