Role Overview

RISEC Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the successful transition of newcomers in Canada, providing them with the resources, guidance, and support they need for settlement, education, and career success. Our goal is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all newcomers.

Position Description

We are seeking a Community Engagement Manager to join our volunteer team. The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with other non-profit organizations, community groups, and stakeholders. This role involves identifying opportunities for collaboration, fostering partnerships, and enhancing the reach of our organization’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with other non-profit organizations, community groups, and stakeholders who share our mission of supporting newcomers.
  • Partnership Development: Identify opportunities for collaboration with external organizations and work to develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Networking: Attend community events, meetings, and networking sessions to promote our organization and build connections.
  • Communication: Act as a point of contact for partner organizations, providing information about our services, programs, and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in organizing joint events, workshops, or initiatives with partner organizations to support newcomers.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Executive Director/Program Director on partnership developments and community engagement activities.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from partner organizations to ensure successful collaboration and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in community engagement, partnership development, or related fields is an asset.
  • A passion for supporting newcomers and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to attend events and meetings outside of regular working hours, if required.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector and the challenges faced by newcomers is a plus.
