About the 1000 Seeds Initiative:

The 1000 Seeds Initiative is a transformative program by RISEC Community Foundation designed to help 1000 newcomers each year secure professional careers in Canada. We recognize the challenges that newcomers face when integrating into a new country, and our goal is to provide the support and resources needed to turn those challenges into opportunities. Through a structured four-phase approach, we guide participants from preparation to employment, ensuring they are equipped for success in their new home.

Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented and organized Volunteer Case Managers to join our 1000 Seeds Initiative. This volunteer position will play a crucial role in assessing program applicants, matching them with appropriate career advisors and mentors, and ensuring their progress through the program phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applicant Assessment: Assess program applicants for qualification into the 1000 Seeds program based on established criteria.
  • Matching and Assignment: Determine and assign the right career advisor and mentor for each applicant based on their specific requirements and career goals.
  • Program Navigation: Ensure that applicants move smoothly through the various phases of the 1000 Seeds program, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Performance Reporting: Report on the effectiveness of applicants, mentors, and career advisors, providing feedback to the Program Manager.
  • Qualification Support: Assist in the qualification process for both mentors and applicants, ensuring all criteria are met.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess and understand individual needs and goals.
  • Experience in case management, program coordination, or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Passion for helping newcomers succeed.
  • Ability to commit to a flexible schedule, with a minimum time commitment of 5 hours per week.
