RISEC Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting newcomer families in Canada through settlement, education, and career initiatives. We strive to create opportunities for families, especially newcomers, to thrive by providing resources, workshops, and community engagement programs that make a difference in their integration journey.
Position Overview:
RISEC Community Foundation is seeking a Program Manager to lead the Career Development section of the Thrive in Canada (TiC) initiative. This role is essential in equipping newcomers with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to succeed in their careers in Canada. The Program Manager will have the autonomy to shape topics, presentations, and workshops critical to newcomer success while overseeing a dedicated team of Project Managers, coordinators, presenters, and administrative staff
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development:
- Identify, plan, and implement career-focused workshops, presentations, and events aligned with the needs of newcomers in Canada.
- Develop and manage a calendar of events, ensuring alignment with RISEC’s three core pillars Settlement, Education, and Career.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Supervise and support a team of Project Managers, coordinators, presenters, and administrative personnel.
- Assign tasks, set objectives, and provide mentorship to ensure smooth execution of all activities.
- Foster collaboration and ensure all team members are motivated and aligned with program goals.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with community partners, employers, and volunteers to enhance the reach and impact of the Career Development program.
- Develop relationships with external organizations and sponsors to expand program offerings and visibility.
Program Management & Reporting:
- Monitor program performance, collect feedback, and implement continuous improvements.
- Prepare regular progress reports for the CEO, ensuring all activities align with RISEC’s mission and strategic goals.
- Manage program logistics, including budgeting and tracking resources, in collaboration with other departments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a related field, preferably within community organizations, non-profits, or career development programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage career-related events and workshops.
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities faced by newcomers in Canada is an asset.
- Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment with volunteers.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results on time.
Commitment:
- This is a volunteer role requiring a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- The Program Manager will report directly to the CEO of RISEC Community Foundation.
