We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our RISEC Community Foundation team, Olivia Chenier, who joins us as a Magazine Designer for Canadian Horizons. Olivia brings a rich blend of design expertise, creative vision, and practical experience that will be instrumental in enhancing the visual appeal and overall impact of our magazine.

Olivia holds a Graphic Design Diploma from New Brunswick Community College and has further honed her skills through various courses at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design and LinkedIn Learning. Her educational background has provided her with a solid foundation in graphic design principles, which she has effectively applied in her professional roles.

Her most recent experience as a Graphic Design Intern at the Department of National Defense (ALSC) in Oromocto stands out, where she balanced multiple projects and maintained effective communication with clients. Olivia demonstrated proficiency in operating large-format printers and vinyl plotters, contributing to high-quality product outputs. Her ability to thrive in both collaborative and independent work settings showcases her adaptability and self-reliance. Notably, she received a letter of congratulations from the commandant for a successful project for the CFNOC hull in Ottawa.

Before her internship at the Department of National Defense, Olivia worked as a Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist at TRL Solutions in Fredericton. There, she excelled in delivering rapid project turnarounds, strategizing and executing monthly social media calendars for 21 clients, and ensuring brand consistency across various platforms. Her research skills and content composition tailored to clients’ businesses significantly elevated social media designs and audience engagement.

Olivia’s role as a Creative Director at The Brunswickan involved constructing a monthly magazine within tight deadlines, delegating tasks, and collaborating with media editors. She regularly attended events to capture captivating photographs and produced images weekly, ensuring comprehensive coverage and high-quality visual storytelling. Additionally, Olivia has experience as a Digital Media Coordinator for FLOURISH Fest, where she designed dynamic streaming visuals, provided on-site troubleshooting, and delivered real-time social media updates during the festival.

Her extensive skill set includes proficiency in Adobe Suite, Canva, Microsoft Suite, social media marketing, branding, illustration, and photography. Olivia’s detail-oriented nature, organizational skills, and strong communication abilities make her a perfect fit for our team. She is known for her task prioritization, troubleshooting skills, leadership, teaching, collaboration, and time management.
